about us

how we met

Sam met Liv at a tessa violet gig when Liv appeared out of nowhere in front of her, with a paper heart and instructions to put it in front of her phone torch when tessa played words ain't enough - it created a beautiful moment in a beautiful gig, lighting up the whole room!

Liv met Sam on twitter the next day, when she found Sam's tweets about how wonderful that moment was.

We stayed close after that, bonding over live music, travel and whether Sam should be allowed to name our future cats "Somebody" and "Nobody" (jury's still on that one). Over covid, we grew even closer, spending time together in the something to look forward to tour chat and playing hours and hours of stardew valley together, before finally seeing eachother in person again and starting to date after lockdown ended.

Our life together has been built on our annual trip to glastonbury and our love of live music.

the proposals

We got engaged in the summer of 2024, after dating for three years :)

Liv proposed first in the beautiful woodland area of Glastonbury festival. She got Sam to stand on the bandstand with the thinly veiled excuse of "doing a fit check", before getting down on one knee while her back was turned. Sam was absolutely terrified of losing her engagement ring for the rest of the night before they safely stowed it at one of the property lockups (thank you to the volunteers unknowlingly looking after that ring for 3 terrifying days).

After recovering from whatever plauge we picked up at glastonbury, Sam proposed a few weeks later at sunset on dunstanburgh beach in northumberland, Liv's childhood beach and where she'd taken Sam on their first date.

Unsurprisingly, as this is a wedding website, we both said yes.

our life together

We spent our first year together braving the long distance between Northumberland and Surrey, getting very familliar with the East Coast Mainline (when we werent suffering through weekends without eachother due to trains being cancelled or inexplicably overbooked due to some football game we hadn't realised was happening) and confusing our favourite artists about where we lived when we popped up somewhere unexpectedly.

When we finally moved in together into Sam's tiny flat in Surrey we had the time of our lives seeing just about every gig we could in London and somehow managing to spend exactly the same amount of time on trains while chasing our favourite bands across the country.

Then, after 2 years in Surrey, we made a huge change and moved to a village just outside of Edinburgh where we have made a beautiful home together (and literally made some parts of the home as Sam started to build furniture as a hobby), with the city on our doorstep and gigs in Glasgow still just a stones throw away.
